WWE NXT Spoilers For Shows Through The End Of April

nxt

The WWE taped episodes of NXT last night at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. The company taped four episodes that will run through the month of April. You can watch episodes of NXT on the WWE Network. Here is what happened at the tapings.

Dark Match

-Kalisto (f/k/a Samuray Del Sol) defeated El Local. This was probably dark, but replays were shown post-match so it wasn’t 100 percent clear.

Episode One (April 3):

-Emma over Sasha Banks.

-The Ascension beat two local wrestlers. One of the jobbers was FIP talent Johnny Vandal.

-Brodus Clay pinned Xavier Woods. Brodus cut a promo saying WWE took everything from him, so now it’s his time to do the taking. He said he’ll start by taking the NXT Championship.

-Adam Rose over Danny Burch.

-Bayley defeated Sasha Banks.

-Mojo Rawley pinned Sylvester Lefort. Post-match, Brodus came out and attacked Lefort. He called out Neville, but backed down when Neville came down to the ring.

The segment likely ended here, because Neville addressed the fans and said that Bo was going to attempt to occupy NXT. He told the crowd to turn their backs to the ring when Bo tries.

Bo came out and attempted to occupy NXT but the crowd turned their backs and had none of it. Bo flipped out and threw the mic; basically had a complete meltdown. NXT General Manager JBL came out and told Bo that he doesn’t have another shot at the NXT Title, but he does have a match with Justin Gabriel.

-Bo Dallas defeated Justin Gabriel. This match was super boring. It apparently felt like it dragged on for ten hours.

Episode Three (April 17):

-Aiden English pinned Colin Cassady. English used a handful of tights.

-Camacho beat Oliver Grey.

-The Ascension defeated two jobbers.

-The Great Khali over CJ Parker. Parker was crapping on the crowd, so the crowd was happy when Khali came out and killed Parker.

-Alexander Rusev defeated Travis Tyler.

-Tyson Kidd beat Mason Ryan. Kidd put NXT over after the match.

The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family match was epic that is all that needs to be said. Batista had a solid outing with Del Rio despite a very disrespectful crowd. Loved the chamber match sorry folks Bryan shouldn’t have won the title at the chamber PPV.

JPOV: A very good edition of Monday Night RAW. Alot of progression in storylines heading into the Elimination Chamber PPV. I enjoyed the six man tag team match with The Wyatt Family taking on Rey Mysterio and The Rhodes Brothers. Two other great tag team matches tonight with Sheamus and Christian beating Real Americans and The Usos beating Rybaxel.

Betty White as a guest star was really funny tonight one of the better celebrities that’s been on RAW in the last couple of years. Good to see Daniel Bryan getting more promo time tonight with The Authority. I’m excited to see the Daniel Bryan and Kane match. Good outing for Batista who shine tonight with his attack on Alberto Del Rio. Like seeing Batista being the big destructive monster instead the casual jacked up guy thats talk each time he comes out.

The John Cena and Randy Orton match wasn’t that bad either even though the fans in Los Angeles were trying to get their selves over. Overall a fun night on RAW which was needed on this road to the Elimination Chamber. Also congratulations to Lita who will be in the WWE Hall of Fame this year joining the Ultimate Warrior and Jake “The Snake” Roberts.

2013 Tag-Team of the Year

In recent years, it seems like tag-team wrestling has taken a back seat to singles competition.  Compared to the tag-team division of the late 80s and 90s, modern sports entertainment has seemed content to pair up random singles wrestlers to be partners, in a “throw it on the wall and see what sticks” mentality.  And it’s been…. fine.  Luckily, WWE decided to up its game in 2013.  We finally got to see some lower-to-mid card acts rise as the company refocused on building legitimate teams.  And, perhaps most surprisingly, WWE’s tag-team competition became more interesting than a certain other major wrestling organization.  But which team rose to the top? WWE Announces Match At Survivor Series For CM Punk And Daniel Bryan

The WWE has announced their third match for Survivor Series as CM Punk and Daniel Bryan will be battling Erick Rowan and Luke Harper of The Wyatt Family.

The feud started on the October 28 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw when the entire Wyatt Family brutally attacked Bryan and Punk on separate segments during the show. On last week’s Raw, Punk defeated Harper, with the Brey Wyatt and Rowan attacking Punk until Bryan made the save. On Smackdown last week, Bryan Harper battled to a no contest. Then on Raw last night, Punk and Bryan faced The Shield and near the end of the match the Wyatt’s got into a brawl with The Shield. Bryan and Punk looked on from the outside until The Wyatt’s and The Shield put their focus back on the duo and attacked them until The Usos and The Rhodes Brothers made the save.

Survivor Series takes place on Sunday, November 24 from TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts with the main event of Randy Orton vs The Big Show for the WWE title.

Video: WWE Money in the Bank Kickoff Show Online

WWE has posted the kickoff show from last night’s Monday in the Bank pay-per-view online including the tag-team title match between The Shield and The Usos.

‘Monday Night Raw’ Reaction and Review – 6/24/2013

For complete coverage of everything that happened last night, check out the WWE Raw Rundown.

image2993Things got off to a hot start last night, with the Daniel Bryan/Randy Orton stuff. Although cancelling the match and postponing it until later in the night felt like a cheap way to squeeze every last drop out of this feud, it made a lot of sense to have this rivalry headline the show. Especially if, and I’m just guess here, this was their final match.

Bryan winning here made sense, as he needed a way to re-legitimize himself as a singles wrestler. I’m just curious what’s in store next for Orton. Their mutual-respect handshake at the end makes it seem like they’re putting the brakes on a Orton heel-turn. Then again, this could just be setting the WWE Universe up for a swerve.

Speaking of set-ups, I think it’s pretty obvious here that Punk is being “set-up” by Paul Heyman. Their interactions last night carried a lot of weight and emotion, which was good. But it’s also the exact type of thing that will be replayed over and over once Heyman finally turns on Punk. Overall, this seems to be a great way to extend the feud between now and Summerslam without using up all of Brock Lesnar’s appearance dates.

The Shield has officially dropped to lower mid-card duty (don’t say we didn’t warn you). Hopefully their feud with The Usos will be quick and painless. This is the major consequence of no long term build with The Usos – that is, nobody gives a crap about their storyline.

Money in the Bank participants were announced last night, albeit rather informally. I can’t help but imagine this would have carried so much more weight had they let the wrestlers come out to the ring and jabber back-and-forth about who was going to win. I’m also confused about whether or not this is the only Money in the Bank match this year. If so, this is a stacked match, and should be very entertaining. If not, I think the company would have been wise to limit the participants here by spotlighting a few key performers (imagine how great a four-way Punk vs. Bryan vs. Orton vs. RVD MITB match would be), and then save the “all hands on deck” match for the World Heavyweight Championship MITB.

The McMahons were featured again, just not quite as heavily. It seems like creative wanted to put them back on TV, but now has no idea where to go with this storyline. At least Vickie seems to be shining in her role as “pawn” in the game of WWE Corporate chess.

Overall show was definitely lacking. About halfway through, the momentum completely died. Mark Henry’s segment fell flat (they should’ve just stuck with Cena’s promo, and kept Henry off TV another week), CM Punk had a lackluster match with Darren Young, and the spark from last week seemed to have evaporated. We’re officially back in the summer hangover – let’s just hope things pick back up again BEFORE MITB.
