The Ultimate Warrior Passes Away At The Age Of 54

warriorhof

It has been confirmed by the WWE that Hall of Famer The Ultimate Warrior has passed away at the age of 54. The WWE released a statement a short ago on his passing.

WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior. Warrior began his WWE career in 1987 and quickly went on to become one of the biggest stars in WWE history. Warrior became WWE Champion at WrestleMania VI, defeating Hulk Hogan in an epic encounter. We are grateful that just days ago, Warrior had the opportunity to take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame and was also able to appear at WrestleMania 30 and Monday Night Raw to address his legions of fans. WWE sends its sincere condolences to Warrior’s family, friends and fans. Warrior was 54 and is survived by his wife Dana and his two daughters.

The cause of death is unknown at this time and our condolences go out to Warrior and his family. We will have more on this story as it becomes available to us.

Brock Lesnar Shouldn’t Lose Until He Leaves WWE

brock wm 30

Brock Lesnar did the unthinkable at WWE Wrestlemania 30 on Sunday and defeated The Undertaker to end the WrestleMania undefeated streak at 21. When the three count was made, shockwaves were sent throughout the world as headlines were circulating online regarding the end of “The Streak”. On last night’s WWE Monday Night Raw, Lesnar’s manager Paul Heyman cut one of the greatest promos of all time touting how Lesnar ended the streak. The question is now, what do you with Brock Lesnar?

With Lesnar’s limited schedule it is a little tricky unless he agrees to do more dates as his current contract expires after next year’s Wrestlemania 31.

Heyman stated earlier in the year that Lesnar should be competing for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. That case is definitely for real now that Lesnar did break “The Streak”. You can’t put him in there with Daniel Bryan just yet, as the new champion would have to go over and would make Lesnar’s win at Mania seem pointless.

You don’t have to even put Lesnar in with Bryan. If you do that program, it shouldn’t be until Royal Rumble at the earliest, but preferably Wrestlemania 31 with Lesnar going in as the champion. I would have Lesnar run through everybody until that point as you have to make him look like a monster. For the next year, I would have Lesnar beat guys like Batista, Randy Orton, John Cena until he loses.

Lesnar broke the greatest streak in the history of professional wrestling. The guy who beats Lesnar has to be the guy who is going to be the number one guy in your company and will be building the WWE around. Your options include Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, Roman Reigns to name a few.

No one knows if Brock Lesnar will sign another deal with the WWE when his contract near expiration, but he shouldn’t lose until he leaves the WWE for good.

The Good, The Bad And The Dirty From WWE Wrestlemania 30

wrestlemaniaoriginal

WWE Wrestlemania 30 took place last night from the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. In the main event, Daniel Bryan defeated Randy Orton and Batista to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The show featured “The Streak” ending as Brock Lesnar defeating The Undertaker and John Cena defeating Bray Wyatt.

As we do after every Monday Night Raw, let’s give our the good, the bad and the dirty from the biggest wrestling event of the year.

The Good

1) The Main Event: This was the ending that everybody was wanting with 75,000 people chanting YES! The match delivered as all three guys came off really well and got the crowd behind them as they were still reeling from The Undertaker loss to Brock Lesnar. Really liked the added wrinkle of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon coming from the crowd and the stretcher spot was well executed. The only shocking thing was the fact Batista was the guy Bryan submitted, but that was the right move as it means more since that’s Batista’s first defeat since coming back in January. The Daniel Bryan Era now begins!

2) The Opening Segment featuring Hulk Hogan, The Rock and Steve Austin: This was definitely my favorite moment of the night and was the best way to open the show. You had the three biggest stars in our generation in the same ring at the same time. Was a cool moment when Austin and Hogan the staredown as goosebumps were running down my body when that happened and a great moment when they shook hands. It was very symbolic to see The Rock acknowledge what Austin and Hogan did for him at previous WrestleMania’s. Good to see all three acknowledge the current WWE stars and then do the catchphrases and drinking beer in the ring.

3) Daniel Bryan vs Triple H: We had stated all week that this match should start the show. The story building to the match was done to perfection. Thought it was a very good video package showing the career of Bryan leading into the match. The match started with a slow build and was well paced throughout. Stephanie McMahon was very good here making comments at Bryan in certain points in the match. The crowd was very into the match and was good to HHH take the pin with the buskai knee. The post-match attack was the most logical to sell the fact that maybe Bryan wouldn’t compete in the main event or at the very least not be 100% going into the match.

The Bad

4) Divas Invitational: Felt really bad for the ladies here as they had to follow the Lesnar/Taker match. The crowd was flat and really didn’t care about it whatsoever. The match was a total mess as you had 14 women in there when it would been better having four at the absolute most. The finish was at least correct with AJ Lee retaining the title.

The Dirty

5) The Streak Ending: No one and I mean NO ONE so this coming. When the referee hit the mat for the three count, it seemed like the world was ending. People were ready to stop watching WWE, wanting to break their TV’s, etc. The match wasn’t nothing to get excited about even down the stretch with the near falls as no one was believing that “The Streak” would end. At the end of the day, this was the best move for business and give WWE and The Undertaker credit for pulling the trigger on this.

Backstage With Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin And The Rock At WWE Wrestlemania 30

Last night’s WWE Wrestlemania 30 was one of the biggest events of all time. The opening segment of the show was something to remember as we saw three of the biggest names in the history of wrestling in the same ring as we saw Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin and The Rock.

All three guys gave each other adulation for what they have done in their respective careers, put over the current talent and said their respective catchphrases.

The WWE has released a video with all three guys before they came out to the ring.

Report: The Undertaker Sent To The Hospital After WWE Wrestlemania 30, Possible Concussion

20130411_Undertaker_LIGHT_HOMEPAGE

In perhaps the greatest upset in WrestleMania history, The Undertaker’s streak ended at 21 as he lost Brock Lesnar. The crowd was in a stunned silence when the fall happened as it like it was a dream. The loss didn’t come without some bumps and bruises for “The Deadman”.

ProWrestling.net and The Wrestling Observer that Undertaker was taken to the hospital after WrestleMania and it is believed that he suffered a concussion. The Observer also reported that Taker suffered a possible neck injury and would be staying overnight in the hospital and the injury was believed to happen when he took bad fall off a single leg.

As of right now, no word has come out on whether The Undertaker will be appearing at tonight’s WWE Monday Night Raw.
