WWE SmackDown Results: Jericho Gains Advantage?

First Match: Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colter vs. Cesaro

Swagger lands a series of takedowns, he goes for the ankle lock, but Cesaro just manages to make it out of the ring. Cesaro withe right hands, but Swagger lands some of his own. Swagger with a splash and more strikes. Cesaro pokes the eye of Jack and then lands a big boot. Cesaro with a fall away slam for two. Cesaro locks in a headlock, but Swagger gets to his feet. Cesaro cuts him off with a power slam and then a stomp to the gut. Cesaro is making this one a brawl as he throws more strikes. Cesaro with a elbow drop, he locks in a headlock, which leads to Swagger fighting out. Cesaro slaps him, but Jack lands a elbow and a clothesline. Swagger throws Cesaro into the corner and lands a big boot. Swagger goes for the Swagger bomb, but only to be caught and thrown to the floor.

We’re back and Cesaro goes for a superplex, but blocked and knocked off. Swagger comes off the top right into a uppercut from Cesaro for two. Swagger tries to explode out of the corner, but eats a big boot. Cesaro off the top rope, but caught and Jack hits a spinebuster for two. Swagger hits the Swagger bomb for a near fall. Cesaro makes his way to the apron, which he uses. Cesaro hits a double arm powerbomb for a near fall. Cesaro with a big boot while he talks trash. Cesaro goes for a big boot, but Swaggerreverses and locks in the ankle lock for the win. 

After the match, Lana cuts a promo about American. To get to the point, Lana challenges Swagger to a flag match at SummerSlam. Zeb accepts and we have a match.

Winner: Jack Swagger

First In-Ring Segment:

Randy Orton makes his way out to the ring. He says that he has no problem that Brock Lesnar is facing John Cena for the WWE title at SummerSlam, but he does have a problem with Roman Reigns costing him that shot. That is why he did what he did on this past week’s Raw. This leads to a highlight video shown from Raw. Orton says Reigns is going to get the same fate he faced Monday at SummerSlam. Believe in that!

Second Match: R-Truth vs. Bo Dallas

Truth goes for a couple of roll ups right out of the gate. Bo ground and pounds Truth, which leads to a DQ.

After the match concludes, Bo continues the beat down on Truth. Bo says that he “Bolieves” that Truth got what was coming to him. He knows that all of his Bolievers still Bolieves in him.

Winner: R-Truth by DQ

Third Match: AJ Lee vs. Rosa Mendes

Lee shoots off the ropes and locks in the Black Widow for the win. Yes, that was an actual match.

Leemakes her way up to the stage, but out of nowhere, Paige pushes her off the stage to the floor. This get’s big boos from the crowd.

Winner: AJ Lee

Dean Ambrose cuts a backstage promo about his match against Rollins and Kane tonight. He says that the Authority is doing this on purpose and he knows that. He is crazy, and he is to rip Seth Rollins’s face off tonight.

Fourth Match: Kane & Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose

Kane and Ambrose start this one off. Ambrose with right hands, Kane lands a big time uppercut. Ambrose shoots off the ropes, but to only be hit with a big boot by Kane. Rollins tagged in and goes right after the shoulder of Ambrose. Ambrose reverses an irish whip and throws Rollins down by his hair. Kane tagged in and hits a major league clothesline. Kane throws Ambrose shoulder first into the ring post. Rollins tagged in and Kane holds Ambrose back as Rollins slaps Ambrose. Rollins nails a knee to the head of Ambrose. Rollins goes for a powerbomb, but Ambrose clotheslines him out of the ring and then sends Kane to follow. Ambrose hits an outside dive taking out both men. Ambrose sends Kane.face first into the steel ring steps. Back in the ring, Ambrose just throws beats the holy hell out of Rollins. Ambrose with a hair toss across the ring. Kane drags Ambrose out to the floor and over the barricade. Ambrose hits Kane and Rollins with a steel chair causing the DQ.

Kane hits an uppercut on Ambrose, he goes for a chokeslam, but Ambrose reverses and hits a DDT on the steel chair to Kane. Ambrose goes nuts and continues to hit Kane with the chair. He and Rollins stare off to end this segment.

Winner: Kane & Seth Rollins by DQ

Chris Jericho is about to do a backstage promo, but before we are shown video highlights of the past two weeks of destruction by the Wyatts. He says if he beats Rowan tonights then he will not have to worry about them at SummerSlam. They will never ever ever be the same again.

Fifth Match: Diego w/Summer Rae, Layla and El Torito vs. Fandango

Fandango hits Diego a few times and knocks him down, then he gets into an argument with Summer and Layla before snapping Diego’s head on the ropes. Summer and Layla start dancing with Torito to distract Fandango, and Diego drops him with a DDT for the win.

Winner: Fandango

Sixth Match: Alberto Del Rio vs. Dolph Ziggler

Rio jumps Ziggler, however, Ziggler fights back and hits a dropkick followed by an elbow drop. Ziggler shoots off the ropes, but Rio reverses and throws him up in the air. Del Rio locks in a headlock, but Ziggler fights out. Ziggler hits a major league clothesline and a splash in the corner. Ziggler with a neck breaker, he goes for a Fameasser, but reversed and Rio rolls him up for two. Del Rio goes and misses the super kick, Ziggler hits a big DDT for a near fall. The Miz jumps on the announce table, Ziggler gets distracted by this and Del Rio rolls him up for a near fall. Del Rio misses the enziguri kick in the corner and Ziggler follows it up with the Fameasser for a near fall. Ziggler goes after Miz, but Miz makes it out the crowd. Ziggler jumps on the apron, but only to get kicked in the head. Del Rio locks in the arm bar and this one is over.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

Seventh Match: Chris Jericho vs. Erick Rowan w/Luke Harper & Bray Wyatt

Wyatt cuts a promo prior to Rowan’s match. He says that everything Jericho has said are just empty promises. You said you were going to save us all, but those were just lies.

Rowan jumps on Jericho and beats him down. Jericho fights back like a pitbull. Rowan throws him into the corner where he beats Jericho down. Jericho ducks and Rowan is sent to the floor. Jericho lands a springboard dropkick to Rowan. Jericho with a baseball slide that sends Rowan into the barricade. Back in the ring, Harper trips Jericho, and this leads to Bray along with Harper being sent to the back.

We’re back with Rowan in control of our main event. Jericho fight’s out of a headlock and lands a flurry of chops. Jericho hits a DDT for a near fall. Jericho lands a series of kicks to the gut of Rowan, he hits a dropkick off the middle rope for a near fall. Jericho runs into a wheel kick by Rowan for a near fall. Rowan hits a big boot as Wyatt looks on from ringside. Jericho rolls up Rowan for two, he hits the enzuigiri followed by a short base drop kick. Jericho hits the lionsault for a near fall. Jericho runs into a back elbow and then Rowan hits a shoulder block. Rowan puts Jericho into the corner, he attempts a fall away slam, but Jericho fights out. Rowan knocks Jericho off the top rope, Jericho hits a right hand and then flies off the top, but to only eat a big boot. Rowan locks in a bear hug, but Jericho fights out and hits the codebreaker for the win.

Winner: Chris Jericho
