Kurt Angle has reportedly signed a new deal with TNA Wrestling.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson wrote that the Olympic gold medalist is “believed to have signed a new part-time deal with TNA that will allow him to split time between pro wrestling and pursuing acting work.”
Angle has said he plans to sign a one-year deal and then retire. Earlier this month, Johnson reported that Angle was in talks with WWE, and one source claimed told him that the “Wrestling Machine” had turned down a full-time offer (pending a passed physical).
The idea of WWE offering Angle, whose body has been ravaged by injuries and who has battled substance-abuse problems, a full-time deal seems like a way of saying thanks, but no thanks. Sounds like the dream of an Angle vs. Rusev match will have to remain a fantasy.
