Drew McIntyre makes his TNA debut

Ex-WWE star Drew McIntyre made his TNA debut at the Thursday night television tapings in Glasgow, Scotland.

McIntyre, who now goes by Drew Galloway, did a run-in at the tapings, which was captured in supposed “fan shot footage.”

Not sure why the “fan” would be shooting video in the opposite direction of the ring while a match is going on, but that “fan” sure was lucky to be standing in the vicinity of Galloway’s path to the ring.

The video quality is pretty rough, so it’s difficult to tell who Galloway was saving or running off with a pipe. Galloway commented on his debut on Twitter.

Galloway, the current Evolve Champion, would be an excellent signing for TNA and starting him during the European TV tapings is a great way to get him over. The crowds should be incredibly hot for the native Scot.

Galloway has a look and size (6-foot-5, 247 pounds) that led Vince McMahon to dub him the “Chosen One.” He was pushed too hard too soon and then severely underutilized in WWE doing a lower-card comedy role as part of 3MB with Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal. He’s stated in the past that his goal is to get back to WWE, and though I’m not sure working for TNA gets him on the path back, it’s a fantastic hiring by TNA of a young (Galloway is only 29) and hungry star that can be added to the main event mix.

Mickie James also appeared on the show.
