WWE King of the Ring Bracket Announced

Literally less than a day after its offhanded announcement at WWE Extreme Rules, WWE.com has posted an updated bracket for the NEWEST incarnation of King of the Ring. Better yet? It starts tonight on WWE RAW.

You’ll see all the usual mid-card suspects here: Dean Ambrose, Sheamus, Neville, Luke Harper, R-Truth, Stardust, Dolph Ziggler, and Bad News Barrett. The opening round takes place tonight on RAW, while the semi-finals and finals will be happening live on a WWE Network special taking place Tuesday night at 8/7 C.

King of the Ring bracket

You’ll note that King of the Ring used to be an annual pay-per-view event that set up superstars like ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Randy Savage, Kurt Angle, Edge, and… er, Billy Gunn… for main-event level runs after wining the tournament. It went on hiatus after 2002, came back in ’06 as a WWE RAW exclusive, before disappearing again in 2010.

Look back at one of the all-time great kings, ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage.

There are a number of great picks in this field (Sheamus won back in 2010), but none are likely to reach the same heights that King Booker did after his ’06 victory.

Who do you think will win?
