“Superfly” Jimmy Snuka
Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka was arrested yesterday on charges of third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter in the 1983 cold-case homicide of Nancy Argentino.

WWE has released a statement on Snuka. “WWE expresses its continued sympathy to the Argentino family for their loss. Ultimately this legal matter will be decided by our judicial system.”

More details on Snuka’s arrest from the Allentown Morning Call:

The grand jury found that Snuka’s “assaultive acts and his failure to act to obtain medical attention resulted in her death.” Snuka’s inconsistent statements about the events of that night were also a factor in the grand jury’s decision. The grand jury recommended that Snuka be charged with homicide.

The Lehigh County District Attorney charged Snuka with third-degree murder  — meaning killing with malice — because the wrestler allegedly fatally harmed Argentino during a fight and didn’t seek medical treatment for her afterward.

Argentino died from traumatic brain injuries and had suffered multiple cuts and bruises, according to an autopsy.

The 72-year-old Snuka, who has stomach cancer, was allowed to bond out of jail because the DA didn’t want taxpayers on the hook for his medical expenses. Snuka is facing 20 to 40 years in prison.

Philadelphia is bidding on WrestleMania 34 that would take place in 2018. The plan as it stands: Lincoln Financial Field would host the granddaddy of them all. The Wells Fargo Center would get Raw and NXT events. And Axxess would take place at the Convention Center. [Crossing Broad]
